The market was flooded with mass-produced rubs packed full of anti-caking agents, artificial dyes, and cheap bulk fillers designed to save pennies on the production line, not build flavor on the pit.
We approach barbecue as a craft that demands respect. Whether you are firing up the smoker for a weekend family gathering or chasing competition trophies, the fire doesn’t care about shortcuts. We wanted a rub that worked exactly as hard as the pitmaster tending the coals. So, we stopped buying off the shelf and started blending our own.
